NC A&T Aggies vs VUL Dragons

Rod Broadway made his debut as Aggie’s new head coach against a brand new Virginia University Lynchburg. Both teams started the first quarter with a dance step – 3 steps and a punt. In the second quarter with eight minutes and six seconds, this is when a former Dudley star, Ricky Lewis, caught a pass from quarterback Lewis Kendall and took it 58 yards for the Aggies’ first touchdown for the season and PAT was good by Jose Garcia-Camacho. The next score came on a 20 yard field goal with fifty seven seconds left in the quarter by Garcia-Camacho. Moving down to the third quarter with fourteen minutes and fifty seconds in the opening, Lewis Kendall hooked up with Wallace Miles fifty yard touchdown pass and PAT was good by Jose Garcia-Camacho. VUL first offensive possession of the third quarter started deep near the two yard line. The second play fumbled on the two yard line and was recovered by the Aggies. With fourteen minutes and twenty seconds in the third quarter, the Aggies scored on a two yard run by Lewis Kendall and the PAT was good by Jose Garcia-Camacho. Later in the third quarter with four minutes and fifty-eight seconds, the VUL Dragons got their first score of the day on the twelve yard pass play from Williams to Crawford and PAT by Woods was good. With thirty-six seconds left in the third quarter, again former Dudley star, Ricky Lewis had to add to the score on a forty-two yard touchdown pass from Lewis Kendall. The PAT was good by Jose Garcia-Camacho. The score was 31-7 at this point but the Aggies were not finished with this new team. Since the Aggies have not scored this many points in years, they thought they needed to add one more score to the board. With two minutes and forty-nine seconds in the fourth quarter, Lewis Kendall hooked up with Raper with a sixty-five yard touchdown pass and the PAT was good by Jose Garcia-Camacho. This was the final score 38-7. There is an old song called, “On Broadway” by the Drifters. This was his day – Coach Rod Broadway. Welcome to Aggie Land.
