RALEIGH, N.C. – Amanda Orsino scored a goal and an assist in Salem College’s 3-1 soccer win over Guilford College in Sunday’s final day of the Meredith College Classic.

The Spirits (1-1) fell behind 1-0 after Guilford’s Gabrielle Lahowitch scored her second goal of the year in the 20th minute, but rallied to score three times for their first win of the year. Orsino set up Meghan Millspaugh’s tally in the 39th minute that tied the game before halftime and Sawyer Ferguson netted the go-ahead goal 13 minutes into the second half. Orsino added an insurance goal with just under six minutes to play off an assist from Taylor Norman.

Guilford (1-2) enjoyed a 10-7 edge in shuts, but Salem goalie Jessi Carter made six saves to keep the Quakers at bay. Guilford senior Amy Baker made one stop in goal.

Kat Adams and Jaclyn Nucci represented Guilford on the Meredith Classic All-Tournament Team.

The Quakers visit Methodist University Tuesday (9/6) at 4:00 p.m.
