Rough start for N.C. State’s Mike Glennon, but in the end, everything came out OK for Pack QB

from Caulton Tudor at www.charlotteobserver.com:

RALEIGH Before Mike Glennon could get comfortable Saturday against Liberty, the external heat on N.C. State’s new quarterback had intensified beyond expectations.

Over in Chapel Hill, Bryn Renner’s starting debut for North Carolina was going great – 22-for-23 passing, 278 yards and two touchdown connections in an easy Tar Heel win over James Madison.

New Virginia starter Michael Rocco (son of Liberty coach Danny Rocco) was off to an impressive start against William & Mary. Virginia Tech’s new guy, Logan Thomas, had thrown for a pair of touchdowns in a 66-13 win over Appalachian State.

Then, of course, there was the ever-present Russell Wilson “what if” subplot that will hover over Carter-Finley Stadium until and perhaps after the 2011 schedule is completed.
