Smith at Dudley this Friday night and is there still some heat, on East Lee Street???

Big game even though both teams are still looking for their first win of the season and the team that loses this game, will be down and out and maybe out for the season….Big game, pivotal game fot 2011? This could be the WFMY NEWS 2 Sports Game of the Week, but they may be taking the High Point Andrews at Southwest Guilford game, for the Cowboys’ Homecoming….

Smith at Dudley this year, will be missing many of the main men, from last year’s game…..Remember the first play from scrimmage? It was Smith, with the Jeff Sims to Quinton Able pass play, that covered right at 75 yards and Smith was in control, at Smith, back in 2010….

You had Sims, Able, Elijah Jordan, Eric Ebron, DeMari Boswell and other key names for Smith, that are no longer available for the Golden Eagles and last season, you had kids like Demetrious Dick(QB) and Mycah Gaylord(RB), in the backfield for the Dudley Panthers…..

Current Panther QB, Richard Hayes, saw action in this game for Dudley last year and he ought to be ready to run and throw, this time around versus Smith…..Hayes has been the main man so far this season for Dudley and he’ll get some help out of that I-backfield from Demetrious McCorkle and Keemon Sharpe….Adrian Slade will be ready to spell Hayes at QB for Dudley, if necessary……

Smith relies on Kahylen Pratt at QB, plus Myles Morris and Marlon Hughes……Morris and Hughes at WR and at RB and Pratt is the Eagles’ quarterback…..

Could be a much different game than what we saw at Smith last season….No Ebron, Sims, Jordan or Able for Smith and No Gaylord or Dick for Dudley…..Can you think of other Big Name players that will be missing???

Will we still have the heat on East Lee Street, this Friday night, when Smith visits Dudley?????

*****The bands ought to be ready to do battle on Friday night too…..*****

Who will be the team to beat over off of East Lee Street?

  • Gfan said,

Dudley will be the team to beat. Smiff will be the beaten team.

dudley has played one of the toughest non conference schedule in the state by far. this young but talented team seems to finally be putting some things together. if its one thing about the panthers, they are battle tested after playing some of the best talent in the state during the first 4 weeks of the season. their schedule will only help prepare them for the conference and playoffs. i look for them to make a nice little run in conference. they are starting to get some of their horses back on the field that started the season off on the injury list. i look for the panthers to start getting things going this week against the eagles.

Smith also has played a very tough schedule. NW Guilford, HP Andrews and NE Guilford all rank above Dudley so lets see what happens on friday.
    Go Eagles!!!

  • witness said,

your right those are all good teams. i still dont think they measure up to southern durham, ragsdale, northern guilford, and Hillside

  • Damon said,

The edge goes to Dudley. Both teams need to get in the win column.

NE Guilford is a joke!!! they are only ranked higher than dudley because of there cupcake schedule. If they still played Page Northern and Reidsville they would be 1-3.

WOW! I would have never thought I would see the day that the mighty Panthers would have conceded to the NIGHTHAWKS! Boy, how things have changed!

    GO HAWKS!

  • panther4lyfe said,

Dudley has not and will not conced anything. Dudley has been the class of guilford county for almost a decade now. Everything goes in cycles. We will be back
