Guilford County Sports Hall of Fame inductions a sellout

The Guilford County Sports Hall of Fame is pleased to announce that the
2011 Hall of Fame Induction Banquet at the Greensboro Coliseum is
officially sold out. This year’s class will include Eddie Bridges, Joey
Cheek, Bradley Faircloth, Herb Goins, Chuck Hartman, Freddy Johnson,
Tommy Langley, Angie Polk-Jones, Eddie Pope, Maurice Spencer, and Tripp
Welborne. The Legends that will be honored on Monday night are Larry
Dempsey, Sr., Claude Manzi, and John Morris.

“We are extremely pleased with the response to this year’s class of the
Hall of Fame,” said Hall of Fame Committee Chairman Richard Wood. “We
have had some tremendous banquets in the past but we are extremely
pleased that will have over six hundred people in attendance this year.
The floor of the Greensboro Coliseum presents such a great atmosphere
for our event and we look forward to this year’s event being our best
ever.”

A reception will begin at 5:30 in the Terrace of the Greensboro Coliseum
with the Dinner starting at 6:30- the actual program should begin
somewhere after 7:15.

  1. andy, with all i did to get someone inducted into this i didn’t even get a call or anything to participate in this event. Oh well.
