You never know what you might get…….Is it a good fit? East Carolina to the Big East and if they go, do they go in as a football-only conference member, or do they get in for all sports???

Lots to be looked at, but if ECU were to be accepted into the Big East, this would give them stability and they might be in line for a spot in the BCS, but again, what’s the use in going, if you get in for football only??? Where you gonna play your other sports, in Conference USA? Would they let you stay for sports other than football, or do you try and get into the CAA(Colonial Athletic Association) for all other sports other than football, if you are East Carolina University????? These days it looks like football is the linchpin……

from today’s News and Record……

East Carolina announced Wednesday that it has applied for membership in the Big East, where members are trying to rebuild after Syracuse and Pittsburgh accepted invitations to the ACC.

On Tuesday, ECU athletics director Terry Holland and Chancellor Steve Ballard co-authored a statement, saying, in part: “At this time, no one knows exactly how the future of the Football Bowl Subdivision will look. While many of the developments are not in East Carolina’s control, we will continue to work diligently to influence any realignment possibilities as opportunities present themselves.”
