Women’s Soccer Final – Guilford 6, Sweet Briar 0

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Hannah Schiltz (Ashland, Mo./Southern Boone) scored two first-half goals in Guilford College’s 6-0 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) soccer victory over visiting Sweet Briar College Saturday.

The Quakers (6-2-2, 1-0-2 ODAC) scored a season-high six goals to extend their unbeaten streak to seven games, their longest since 2006.

Schiltz notched her third two-goal game of the season with tallies in the 14th and 30th minutes. Jaclyn Nucci gave Guilford a 3-0 halftime lead with her second score in as many games in the 36th minute.

Senior Katie Oliver, who assisted on Schlitz’ first score, got a goal herself in the 73rd minute when she beat Vixens’ goalie Lindsey Wilson to a ball far from the net and slotted it into the empty goal for her second goal of the year. Sarah Levitt and Rachel Harman closed out the scoring with late goals off of assists by reserve Carma Whitlock-Almond.

Guilford outshot Sweet Briar, 27-1. Wilson finished with 11 saves in goal. Sophomore Abby Gove, the last of three Quakers’ netminders used in the game, stopped the lone Vixens’ shot.

Guilford hosts Averett University Sunday (9/25) at 2:00 p.m. in a nonconference match.
