Carolina Panthers get first win of the season as they hang on to beat Jacksonville Jaguars

Greg Olsen caught a 16-yard touchdown pass from Cam Newton with 4:20 remaining, providing the Carolina Panthers with the winning touchdown in a 16-10 victory against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday at Bank of America Stadium.

The victory gives the Panthers (1-2) their first victory of the season and the first of Ron Rivera’s career as a head coach. Olsen’s touchdown catch made it 14-10, and the Panthers increased it to 16-10 when they went for two — with Newton again connecting with Olsen. The Jaguars (1-2) tried to drive for a winning touchdown, but Jacksonville ran out of time.
