  1. SW Middle over Kernodle Middle was an exciting match up tonight with a large crowd on hand to witness a well played and competitive middle school football game. There were several very good athletes on both teams!! This was a hard fought game with 3 lead changes in the second half. SW was led by one of the fastest middle school athletes in the area #8 Jeremiah Brown. This kid is a 6’2” speedster who possesses an extra gear that separates him from the pack at this level. Brown made several touchdown saving tackles and scored the winning touchdown on a 45 yard reverse to seal the win. You definitely need to see this kid play!!

Big plays on both sides of the ball were provided by SW Middle playmakers #11 Tamarius Howez and #12 Orlando Smith. Howez returned an inception 70 yards for a score just before the half and Smith added a TD run of 35 yards in the 3rd quarter. SW QB #3 Brendan Austin stayed poised in the pocket and showed good leadership directing the offense. Defensive stalwarts #5 Myles Faison, #6 Braxton Price, #34 Dillon Sampson, #60 Colton Weeks and #70 Matthew Slomski all made several key tackles to stop an explosive Kernodle ground attack. Great atmosphere and a great ball game!
