Power Team Sales/Greensborosports.com Player of the Week Watch List for this week(Need some #’s on Northern and EG)

Robbie, Gary, Danny, Abbey, David and Clark are there for you, at www.powerteamsales.com and they have your basketball gear ready for you, inside and out….You can see Clark at the Dixie Classic Fair, from now till Sunday October 9 and you can find out more about Power Team Sales, Sporting Goods and Apparel when you visit their site……..Reversable basketball jerseys are ready for you now and practice starts at most high schools on November 1…..

The football check/watch list this week for the Power Team Sales Player of the Week looks like this……

The Page Pirate defense is a possible pick, after their 49-0 win over Grimsley, where they gave up just 24 toatal yards…..It was 25 yards passing for Grimsley and -1 yard rushing for the Whirlies and Page intercepted one Grimsley pass and the Pirates recovered a fumbled punt for a touchdown and tackled the Whirlie QB for a safety……Also solid offensive games from James Summers, Drew Rogers and Orlando Hatfield….

That NWG offensive line stays in the running and their Viking runningbacks picked up another 248 yards rushing last week, to go with the 600 yards in the two previous weeks…..Get in a vote for the Northwest offensive line…..We don’t have his rushing totals, but Reid Baxter had a big night running the ball for NWG, including a 40-yard TD run….Dalton Dillon was huge for NWG on defense and he deserves some consideration there….

For High Point Central, let’s give it up for Justin Johnson again…..Justin scored both Bison TD’s on the ground, with one run of 60 yards and another of one yard…..Justin did not have his best passing night, but the Bison did gain 209 yards on the ground and Justin got most of that……He was intercepted three times by the NWG Viking defense……

Southeast Guilford is now (6-1) and a lot of the credit must go to RB Jamal Petty…..He has been doing it every week and last week was no exception, with 139 yards on 12 carries and 2 TD’s…..The kid is going to win it one week here pretty soon…..Will Greene was another solid contributor for the SEG Falcons, with his touchdown run and a TD pass, that covered 28 yards to Kir Turner, for SEG….

Southern Guilford’s RB Malik Mosley had 165 yards on 15 carries for the Storm and 2 touchdowns, plus QB Jamie Cunningham had 140 yards passing, 94 yards rushing and 2 TD’s for SG…..Matt Colvin caught the two TD passes from Cunningham for Southern….

Ragsdale’s big man this past week was Marquez Eleazor with 141 yards rushing and 1 TD for the Tigers, in their win over Southwest Guilford….

Western Guilford’s stars in their win over Smith, were QB Josh Thompson and his favorite wide receiver Dorian Anderson……Both deserve mention, with JT hitting Anderson for the game-winning TD and Thompson also ran for a score…..For the Smith Golden Eagles in the one-point loss, Marlon Hughes had two touchdowns…..

We need some numbers bad from that Northern Guilford-Eastern Guilford game and we need them bad now…….

Any suggestions on players from High Point Andrews, they really took WS Atkins apart last week and we could use some of the names you might have for us to look at…..

Northeast Guilford dropped that game down at Asheboro, but I’m sure Jacob McCann still had a big game, he always does and I know he scored the only NEG Ram TD…..

Let’s get some votes from you at andy@greensborosports.com……E-mail me your names for Player of the Week to, andy@greensborosports.com…….

Again, we need some Northern Guilford names and numbers…..

  1. You forgot about Nigel Carlton of Western Alamance and B.J. Bunn both from Western Alamance Nigel was 20 for 37 passing for 320 yards and 2 passing Td’s as well as 1 rushing and B.J Bunn 7 catches for 172 yards and 2 Td’s as the Warriors defeated cross county rival Eastern Alamance 28 – 21.

  2. The HP QB did not pass for 209 yds against NW. He was 10-27-110 with 3 picks. I think you mean he rushed for 209 yds. I don’t think NW has given up 200 passing yds to any team this year.
