Women’s Volleyball: Guilford 3, Greensboro 0

Laura Kopald’s eight kills helped the Quakers (5-12) bounce back with a win over cross-town rival Greensboro, 3-0. The Quakers recorded the first point in both the first and second set and never let The Pride take the lead. The third set saw five tie scores and five lead changes, but the Quakers were determined to win and ended the match in three sets.

Guilford came out strong and took three straight sets from Greensboro, 25-18, 25-20,25-16. Malikah French and Emma Gunn had seven kills a piece on .417 and .353 hitting, respectively. Sophomore setter Taylor Whitley had 27 assists and senior libero Taylor Phillips added 17 digs. Senior Mary Moody added six kills and 12 digs for the Quakers in the win.

Greensboro (7-14) was led by a trio of sophomores. Danielle Simpson lead the way with 10 kills and 10 digs, Dana Sandknop? had 21 assists and ?Siarra Cates ?added 11 pickups for The Pride.?

Guilford will be back in action tomorrow (10/5) at 7:00 p.m. in an Old Dominion Conference matc?h-up against Randolph in Ragan-Brown Field House.??
