Women’s Volleyball: Guilford 3, Randolph 1

A strong attack from Kopald, Moody and Gunn helped Guilford earn their fourth win (25-20, 25-17, 23-25, 25-15) in the last five games.

The Quakers (6-12, 2-2 ODAC) earned the win behind 14 kills on .414 hitting by Laura Kopald. Mary Moody recorded 10 kills and 12 digs and Emma Gunn added 9 kills on .368 hig. Libero Taylor Phillips had a team-high 18 digs and Kaci Chriscoe also chipped in with 11 pickups in the match. Malikah French and Brittany DeCesare came up big with five and four blocks, respectively. Taylor Whitley paced the attack with a match-high 40 assists.

The Wildcats (9-6, 2-4 ODAC) were paced by four freshman. Grayce Darden had 11 kills, Shana Nelson had nine kills, Jordan Templin had eight kills and a team-high 16 digs and Kerry McMichael picked up 11 digs and 25 assists. Junior Megan Wheatley added 10 kills and eight digs in the match.

Guilford will be back in Ragan-Brown Field House for another Old Dominion Athletic Conference match-up on Saturday (10/8) as they take on Eastern Mennonite at 4:00 p.m.
