GREENSBORO, N.C. – Kevin Chico and Mitchell Leap scored less than four minutes apart in the second half to lift visiting Eastern Mennonite University to a 3-2 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) soccer win at Guilford College Friday night.

After the Royals (7-6-1, 5-1 ODAC) broke a 1-1 draw on the back-to-back goals, Guilford’s Ronnie Castellanos made it a 3-2 game in the 85th minute with his fourth goal of the season. Eastern Mennonite preserved the win by not allowing a shot on goal in the final five minutes.

Guilford (5-5-2, 2-3 ODAC) finished with a 24-14 edge in shots, but Eastern Mennonite goalie Patrick Fox made a season-high 10 saves.

The Royals took an early 1-0 lead on a Philip Yoder goal in the sixth minute off a corner kick. The Quakers Freddy Gomez knotted the score at one in the 13th minute with his team-leading eighth goal of the season.

Guilford hosts league-rival Roanoke College Wednesday (10/12) at 7:00 p.m.
