The Quakers earned their fifth win in six matches and evened-up their Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) record as they defeated Eastern Mennonite (25-16, 25-16, 19-25, 25-13).
Malikah French lead Guilford (7-12, 3-3 ODAC) with 12 kills on .625 hitting and four blocks. Emma Gunn and Laura Kopald added to the attack with 11 and nine kills, respectively. Setter Taylor Whitley came up big with 31 assists, seven digs and six aces. Taylor Phillips picked up 12 digs and Mary Moody added 10. Brittany DeCesare chipped in with seven kills and three blocks in the win.
The Royals (5-15, 0-7 ODAC) battled behind freshman Amber Lofton who had 10 kills and 10 digs. Mattie Lehman had 15 assists and Brittany Childress had 15 pickups for Eastern Mennonite in the match.
Guilford will head to Lynchburg on Wednesday (10/12) to take on the Hornets in an ODAC match-up at 6:30 p.m.
