College basketball practice begins Friday night October 14 at 10pm

The college basketball season/practice officially gets under way this Friday October 14 at 10pm……That is when all the practices can begin and UNC will have their Late Night with Roy program and it can be seen on ESPN and ESPNU…..Stuart Scott of ESPN will be there to host the event and former Dudley HS and Hargrave Military student/grad PJ Hairston will don the duds for the first time as Heel in practice…….

Remember practice will begin at 10, on Friday night………

The third annual Countdown to Craziness is on Friday, Oct. 14 at 8 pm. This year’s festivities will once again include the carnival-type atmosphere out in K-ville before the doors to Cameron open at 7:30 pm. The premier season opening event in college basketball also features live student performances, highlight videos, sponsored promotions as well as the annual Blue-White game and dunk contest.

To celebrate the start of the 2011-12 basketball campaign, NC State men’s basketball head coach Mark Gottfried and his players along with the Wolfpack Club, will host a tip-off breakfast at the RBC Center’s Arena Club on Saturday, Oct. 15, from 8-9:30 a.m.

Fans will have breakfast served to them by the squad and then have the opportunity to talk with team members during the meal. Coach Gottfried will address the crowd starting at 8:45 a.m. In addition to the Pack men’s basketball squad and coaches, NC State Director of Athletics Debbie Yow will be in attendance.

The buffet-style menu will include eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, breakfast pastries, fresh fruit, juice and coffee.

Deacon fans, basketball season has made its return to Wake Forest! To kick off the 2011-12 season, the Wake Forest men’s and women’s basketball teams hosted the second annual Black & Gold Madness on Saturday, Oct. 8, at 6 p.m. in Reynolds Gym.

Special for this year’s event, Wake Forest paid tribute to its basketball alumni who were in town for the Hall of Fame Weekend. Saturday night’s activities included an alumni game coached by two former Demon Deacon stars who are currently playing in the NBA.(Josh Howard and Tim Duncan)
