As expected, Lawrence ‘Bubba’ Cunningham has been named the new athletic director at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill…..This happened today(Friday), just after out-going AD Dick Baddour had given long-term contract extensions to basketball coaches Roy Williams and Sylvia Hatchell, as well as baseball coach Mike Fox….Almost like an out-going president or governor, issuing their last day Presidential/Governor’s Pardon……

He was AD at Ball State until 2005. In 2007 the NCAA hit Ball State with LACK OF INSTITUTIONAL CONTROL due to infractions committed on his watch.
He will fit right in in Chapel Hill.
