College Women’s Swimming Results – Guilford Takes 8th at ODAC Relays

LEXINGTON, Va. – Guilford College’s women’s swimming team opened the 2011-12 campaign Saturday with an eighth-place finish at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Relays hosted by Washington and Lee University. The Quakers placed eighth in the nine-team field with 75 points. The host Generals took first with 313 points, well ahead of second-place Randolph-Macon College (242).

The Quakers had two teams place seventh in the 10-meet event. Guilford’s 150-yard breaststroke relay team of Becca Bacon, Kelcey Johnson and Morgan McKinnon took seventh in 2 minutes, 1.88 seconds. Guilford’s 500 freestyle relay squad of Elisa Valbuena-Pfau, Amanda Williams, Johnson and Naomi Lewis was seventh in 6:57.43.

Three other Guilford teams placed eighth and two others finished ninth.

The Quakers open dual competition Nov. 5 when they swim at Greensboro College in a tri-meet with league-rival Bridgewater College.
