Good luck to Glen Locklear as he leaves Ragsdale and heads to Wilmington with Brian Herndon new AD in Jamestown

Glen Locklear leaving Ragsdale as the Athletic Director and heading to Wilmington Ashley High School, as the assistant principal….Ashley is the newest high school in Wilmington, along with New Hanover, Hoggard and Laney and Locklear will join former Southeast Guilford and Dudley athletic director Roy Turner at Ashley, with Turner having been there now for about five years……

Coach Locklear was the head football coach at Northwest Guilford during his stay in Guilford County and he also spent a good period of time on Tommy Norwood’s football coaching staff at Ragsdale…Coach Locklear also was an assistant football coach at Eastern Guilford….

Brian Herndon, former East Carolina and Grimsley quarterback will take over as the AD at Ragsdale, when Coach Locklear leaves out on November 4…..Herndon has a strong background in coaching and he has been a teacher at Ragsdale for several years and as Jason Wolf noted in today’s News and Record, Brian has two sons on the current Ragsdale Tiger football team in QB Garrison and WR Coalson Herndon…..

Good luck to Glen Locklear as he heads to Wilmington next week and best of luck too, to Brian Herndon in his new capacity as the Athletic Director, at Ragsdale High School…..The Tigers will be in good hands with Herndon at the helm…..

  1. GOOD LUCK to Brian as he steps back into Athletics. Great family man so I know he will do GREAT things at Ragsdale.

  2. Great situation here for Ragsdale. Locklear did a good job and hate to see him go however Herndon will be wonderful in this role. Good teacher, good administrator, good coach but most important, great man. Big win for Ragsdale.
