Greensboro College’s Men’s Golf Continues to Climb National Rankings

The Pride men’s golf team continues to climb up the national rankings, coming in at number 14 in the latest GolfStat.com poll. Greensboro finished their fall schedule with a second place finish at the O’Briant-Jensen Memorial Golf Tournament. The team shot identical rounds of 298 for a final score of 596, which tied them with Methodist University.

Nick Peoples and Ben Nihart have consistently been the top finishers for The Pride this season. Peoples finished in a tie for sixth at their most recent tournament, while Nihart tied for ninth. Kirk Mitchell shot a team low round of 71 to help carry The Pride, while Joshua Hudgins and Scott Novicki continue to improve.

Greensboro, who started the season ranked first after last year’s national championship, struggled against strong competition early in the year, but have gotten back on track. A fourth place finish at the Royal Lakes/Oglethore Invitational moved them into 18th before their second place finish this past weekend pushed them farther up in the rankings.
