Middle School Football Today:Went looking for a game and found one at Kernodle(plus NWG, Lincoln, Welborne, Ferndale and others)

Stopped by Grimsley today thinking I might see Kiser-Mendenhall in Middle School action here at the end of the season, but nothing doing football-wise at Jamieson Stadium this afternoon……There was some soccer happening, but I was in search of the Middle School football and drove on over to Kernodle and caught Kernodle vs. Northwest Guilford……I was in the neighborhood, so I stopped by and took in the whole game in……

Chad Serrano scored 4 times for Kernodle today and Ezra Otero got one of the two touchdowns for Northwest, with his early 25-yard TD pass play and the other came on a blocked punt and recovery in the end zone by the Vikings….That is the word and much of what I got from the Kernodle PA man and his is the word that was going out over the public address system today, at Kernodle….

For Kernodle, Serrano had a 28-yard fumble return for a TD, he took a kickoff back 73 yards for a touchdown, he had a 71-yard fake punt run for a touchdown and Serrano had one other TD run…

Big day as we say, for Chad Serrano, from the Kernodle Middle School Cougars…..

Paul Brown and Sam Harris handled the kicking for Kernodle and Tiger Tilley was their leading tackler and J.R. Pack was credited with a key interception for the Kernodle Cougars…

Ezra Otero, Daniel Estrada and Trent Gillenwater were the main ball carriers for NWG and the top tacklers for Kernodle were Tiger Tilley, Nathan Garcia, Darius Mitchell, Zack Wilson, Paul Brown, Leonard and East….

Trey Able, Conley Wells, Cody Miller, Tyler Brown and Conner Doak were the defensive leaders for Northwest Guilford and Able had 7 solo tackles and 3 assists and Doak was among the leading linemen for the Vikings…..Tyler Brown handled all the NWG kicking and the Vikings opened the game with an on-sides kick and after they scored on their opening drive of the game, they came right back with another on-sides kick….NWG up 6-0 early, but Kernodle came back to win the game 32-12, behind the 4 TD’s from Serrano…..
