Mallard Creek bounced back from a slow start to beat Myers Park 42-10 in the N.C. 4AA quarterfinals. The Mavericks, who are in the semifinal round for the first time, will play Greensboro Page, which scored 34 unanswered points to shock Butler 40-26.

Yeah Rob, I’m pretty sure you said we were going to get blown out last night too. Page did exactly what Page does. They hang around in the first half then they make adjustments and dominate in the 2nd. Make no mistake about it, Page dominated in the 2nd half. Yeah, Butler had it deep in Page territory 3 times but that speaks a lot by its redzone defense doesn’t it? The team is glad to be better and they should be. It’s not everyday that a Greensboro school takes down a Charlotte powerhouse. But Page wants that title. They will definitely come out focused Friday vs. Mallard Creek. Stop hating on the Pirates.

I’m going to get bashed, but I have said it all year, Mallard Creek is unlike anything Page has ever seen, or you the coach, player, parent…. Im rooting for those Pirates with all my heart but I just dont think they will beat the creek, I know.. I know, I said the same thing about Butler, but if you have read any of my posts I said from the beginning that I have not seen a team this good (Mallard Creek) in the past 25 years, and I have seen them all. Prove me wrong Page! (again)
Just go to Maxpreps and look at the teams they have beat and how bad, WOW….Play the whole game like you did in that second half and MC has a bad bad night then you boys got a chance, but Im telling you, when you see them run out on the field, thats not a college team!!

Page’s number 1 seed is a JOKE. Mallard Creek deserve to be ranked higher, saying that @Ervin is right: rankings dont mean anything unless you can prove it on the field. I think MC will take this one because they have so much talent and really are a completely different story from Butler. But anything can happen itll be an exciting game for sure 😀
Ya’ll nae-sayers are very funny. I came on here just about every week and heard how Page can’t beat Davie. Page 1-0. They won’t touch Northern. Page 2-0. Ragsdale is going to put them under. Page 4-0 Western has a chance. Page 5-0 Dudley is undefeated in the conference, Page can’t see them. Page 9-0 They won’t make it out the second round of playoffs. Page 12-0 Page can’t see any of the Charlotte teams. Butter will mop the floor with them. Page 13-0 Oh and FYI Butler only lost to Mallard Creek by 8 pts. (20-28), Page beat Butter 44-26 with Butler not scoring in the second half. Page’s defense is racked No.1 in the state. Only falling to No.2 behind Cary for 2 week. Page has 5 shutouts to Mallard Creek’s 3. Including one 70 -0 game. MC average opponent ranking is 103 Page’s is 91. These are key facts that you “experts” fail to mention. I mean the way I see it MC is just a big fish is a small lake. IDK what Mallard Creek thinks of Page, but I hope MC lets these blogs fool them into a false sense of ‘Page is an easy win’. Look past Page to your next game. I sure that’s what Butler did the second half.
