Southwest Guilford boys roll past Western Guilford tonight, 105-67

With the season barely underway, the Cowboys played hosts to the Hornets of
Western Guilford on a rainy November evening. Despite the cold weather the Cowboys
came out smoking hot. In a blink of an eye the run and gun Cowboys sprinted out to
a 24-4 lead. Some early substitutions and a quick resilient burst by the Hornets
ended the first frame at 24-12. Similar to their first game the hosts used a
relentless second quarter to push the score out to 52-22 at the break. The third
quarter was a much tighter battle. After a pair of Cowboy free-throws the Hornets
showed their pride using a 12-0 run. After a timeout, the home squad regrouped and
ended the frame with a 24-7 run to push it back to 76-41. The fourth quarter was
back and forth once again but the game was well in hand as the final tally was
105-67. The visiting Hornets were paced by Jeffrey Mosley’s 19 and Aaron Woodard’s
15 points. The Cowboys had 6 players in double figures including Terrell Leach’s
25, Jordan Hanner’s 21, and Ray Bridges’ 13 points.
