Southwest Guilford girls top Eastern Guilford on Friday night to halt Cowgirls skid

State Champs Southwest Guilford halted a two game losing streak by beating the young
Eastern Guilford Wildcats 69-50 for the second time this season in Gibsonville. Zena
Loveett used her four year starting experience to guide Southwest Guilford to the
victory. The veteran scored 16 points, 3 rebounds, 1 asst, 1 steal to help seal the
deal for the Cowgirls. Sophomore Brianna Burgins showed why she is a budding star by
scoring 19 points in the match. Capmbell-signee Jessica Pone was able to score 10
points before fouling out in the fourth quarter. Eastern was led by Karima Jackson
who scored 14 pts, 6 rebouns, 6 assts, 2 stls and Whitney Parks finished with 12
points. Starter Erica Olerich and Kiyera Purcell did not play.
