WORCESTER, Pa. – Elon men’s soccer senior Nick Millington has been selected to participate in the InfoSport: Pro Soccer Combine, scheduled to be held in Lakewood Ranch, Fla., from January 3-5. Approximately 250 aspiring professional soccer players from all around the world will participate in the event.
InfoSport’s Pro Soccer Combine is an annual event that offers aspiring pro players the chance to display their talents. MLS, USL, NASL and MISL coaches, scouts and agents are in attendance. The combine is led by InfoSport’s Director of Soccer, Daryl Shore, head coach of the NASL’s Fort Lauderdale Strikers and former MLS assistant with the Chicago Fire.
Millington served as co-captain for Elon’s 2011 Southern Conference Tournament champion team, leading the sixth-seeded Phoenix past the number one, two and three seeds in the league tournament en route to the crown. The midfielder was honored as the SoCon Tournament Most Valuable Player and earned second-team all-conference honors. Millington was a starter in all but one contest and registered a goal and two assists during the 2011 season.
