Greensboro College Women’s Basketball Grabs Another Home win, Defeats Meredith 77-54

(GREENSBORO, N.C.) — Danielle Duncan scored 20 points and Jena Cabe notched a double-double with ten points and 12 rebounds, as the Greensboro College women’s basketball team claimed its third straight conference victory. Chevana Pickard also scored 14 points while Andrienne Terrell added 11.
Meredith scored the first basket of the game, but would never lead again, as The Pride went on a 19-2 run and led 19-4 just nine minutes into the game. The Angels struggled to get back in the game, and began to close the gap before halftime. However, Meredith connected on just one of eleven shots from the three point arc and Greensboro grabbed 41 rebounds in the first half to cement a 37-23 lead.

Both teams traded baskets early in the second half, but The Pride’s lead was never in jeopardy, as head coach Randy Tuggle had all 15 players record minutes. Greensboro again broke their season high for scoring, with 77, just a day after posting 76.

The Pride grabbed a season high 64 rebounds and dished out 16 assists. Bianca Richburg grabbed 13 rebounds in addition to her nine points and ten other players found the scoring column as well.

Greensboro improves to 8-1 overall and 5-0 in the USA South and will be back in action on January 11, at Ferrum. The Panthers dropped a nailbiter to Christopher Newport Saturday, 66-62, to give The Pride sole possession of first place in the conference.
