Greensboro College Women’s Basketball Donates Jerseys to Glenwood Family Ministries

(GREENSBORO, N.C.) — The boys hip-hop dance team at Glenwood Family Ministries was in need of basketball jerseys for an upcoming performance on December 10. Unfortunately, they did not have jerseys and the cost to purchase jerseys was too expensive. As a result, the boys decided to use t-shirts instead.

Within 24 hours of making the decision, the group received a call from the Greensboro College women’s basketball team. The team had recently bought new uniforms and were looking to donate its old jerseys.

The boys jumped at the opportunity and performed their show on December 10 to a packed house, where they received a standing ovation at the conclusion of the event.

“The boys were beyond excited,” said Glenwood Tutoring and Dance Director Suzanne Mathis. “We are so grateful for our relationship with Greensboro College and hope that it continues to strengthen as we go into 2012.”

Assistant Pride volleyball coach Sha McDuffie also contributed to the cause, serving as an intern and go between.

In addition to helping the Glenwood Family Ministries, Greensboro College athletic teams have assisted with numerous organizations this season, including Camp Care Free, Miracle League and Special Olympics.
