The Eagles of East Forsyth came over to face off the Cowboys in a Piedmont Triad
Conference clash. The Eagles were sitting tied at the top at 3-1 as SW was in the
middle of the pack at 2-2. The game started back and forth trading baskets the
entire way until SW got a bucket just before the first frame ended at 16-14. The
second quarter had the Cowboys be more aggressive and assertive as they used a
stifling defense and fast paced offense to out score the Eagles 20-8 and go into the
half with a 36-22 lead. Three straight points by SW pushed it to 39-22, but East
showed why they have been successful this season by getting it back down to 42-32 at
the 5:00 mark. It went blow for blow for several possessions and then East Forsyth
was able to end the quarter on a 6-0 run to make it 52-44. The fourth began with
another Eagle basket to get it within 6 and then by the 5:00 minute mark it was at
56-52. But the Cowboys were able to circle the wagons and get back their aggression
and get out to 63-52 just :56 seconds later. From there SW was able to maintain
pressure and protect the lead as the gam ended with a monstrous and-one dunk in
transition by Brandon Clyburn to emphatically stomp the game over at 79-64. East
Forsyth was lead by PJ Jones (13), Craig Hinton (12), and Larry Curry (12).
Southwest had an amazing team effort, Herbie Bridges (15), Jordan Hanner (15), Anton
Morgan (11), Ray Bridges (10), and Brandon Clyburn (10).
