Thanks to some construction High Point Central came over to the Ranch to “Host” the Cowboys of Southwest in a conference clash. Southwest was looking to continue the momentum from Tuesday night’s victory and get back in the race for a top seed in the Piedmont Triad 4A Conference standings. Maybe it was having to wear the away jerseys but the Cowboys started off sluggish and to say they shot poorly would be an incredible understatement. Very uncharacteristically, the first frame ended at 8-7 with the Cowboys holding the slim lead. The second quarter was the same back and forth battle with 8 lead changes as a Cowboy 3 pointer just before the close had the first 16 minutes show 26-23 on the scoreboard in favor of the ‘guests’ Cowboys. Something must have clicked during the break as the third quarter had the Cowboys come out extremely aggressive and effective, and in a blink SW used a dominating defensive quarter outs print the Bison 18-6 in the frame making it 44-29. Southwest scored the first 5 points of the fourth, and essentially sealed it from there as they cruised to a 71-53 win, including another ferocious dunk before the buzzer by Saxton Cotton of the Cowboys. High Point Central was lead by Juwan Foggie (16), and JD Bryant (13). Southwest was lead by Jordan Hanner (24), and Quincy Williams (18).
