The Greensboro College men’s basketball team picked up its sixth win in its past seven games on Saturday, beating Shenandoah, 96-73. The Pride built an early double digit lead, and trailed only once during the entire game, at 2-0.
Leading 14-12 with 15:16 on the first half clock, Luqman Tijani provided the spark, knocking home back-to-back treys to expand the score to 20-12. A Donald Anderson jumper at the 11:02 mark pushed the margin into double figures at 26-16.
The Hornets would pull to within ten just one more time, as Greensboro continued to pile it on, going up by as many as 25 in the first half, at 52-27. The Pride would take a commanding 56-32 lead into the break.
The advantage would grow to as large as 28 in the early minutes of the second half, and Shenadoah would climb no closer than 18 down the stretch.
T.J. Holman had a big day for Greensboro, scoring a game high 26 points to go along with a team high six rebounds. Tijani and Brock Moorman added 16 points while Anderson finished with ten.
The Pride shot a scorching 57% from the field and went 5-16 from three. Greensboro limited the Hornets to 48% shooting and 4-17 from beyond the arc. The Pride outrebounded Shenandoah by a 42-26 margin and forced 20 turnovers.

Greensboro improves to 10-4 on the season and remains perfect in the USA South at 3-0. The Pride will return home on Monday against Allen University. Game time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
