Percy Gates opens the door and leads the Grimsley Whirlies into the fast lane during the NCHSAA Regional Swimming Championships at GAC

Whirlie Record Setting Senior Percy Gates leads Grimsley to Fantastic Finish at NCHSAA Central Regional Championships

Both the Whirlie Men’s & Women’s swim teams finished second at the NCHSAA Central
Regional Swimming & Diving Championships Saturday at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.
The Men were led by Senior Percy Gates who won both the 50 & 100 freestyles in
record times. He also anchored the winning men’s 200 Freestyle Relay team (Pieter
Brower, Joe Riley, McKenzie Cole, Percy Gates) to victory. Sophomore Pieter Brower
(200 Free), Junior Natalie Labonge (50 Free), and Senior Natalie Harris (100 Back)
also won individual events for the Whirlies.
The following swimmers advance to the NCHSAA State Meet next weekend in Cary to swim
