Elon’s Ali Ford Named SoCon Player of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Elon women’s basketball junior guard Ali Ford has been named the Southern Conference’s Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for games played January 31 – February 6, the league office announced today.

Ford averaged 22.5 points per game in Elon’s two wins this past week. She led the Phoenix to a 76-58 win after scoring a game-high 26 points against Furman in the annual Play4Kay game. Ford also dished out three assists and had three rebounds.

Ford turned around to score 19 points in Monday night’s 69-50 road win at UNCG. Ford made nine three-pointers in two games.

The Morganton, N.C., native moved into fifth all-time in program history in scoring after last night’s win and now sits at 1,420 career points.
