Oram Sets Elon School Record at Fast Track Invitational

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Allyson Oram set a new school record in the 5,000-meter run today, Feb. 11, as several Elon track and field distance runners competed in the JDL Fast Track Invitational.

Oram clocked a time of 17:40.32, breaking the two-year record by almost three seconds and finishing first in the event. Morgan Denecke and Haylee Dawe took third and fourth with times of 17:45.94 and 17:59.11, respectively. Katelyn O’Dunne rounded out the Phoenix runners in the 5,000m in 17th with a time of 19:46.47.

Julie Hart competed in the one-mile run, finishing ninth with a time of 5:20.68. In the 3,000-meter run, Emily Tryon (10:17.15) took fourth, while Kaitlin Stober (11:09.75) claimed 32nd.

The Elon track and field team will compete on Friday, Feb. 17 – Saturday, Feb. 18 in the Virginia Tech Challenge.
