Women’s Lacrosse Earns First Win, Beats Agnes Scott 14-0

The Pride women’s lacrosse team picked up its first win of the season with a 14-0 home shutout of Agnes Scott on Saturday. Greensboro moved to 1-2 on the season and are now 1-0 in USA South play.

The Pride exploded in the first half, netting 11 goals to all but put the game out of reach by the break. Nadya Fedun led the offensive attack with three goals- her total for the game – in the first frame.

Overall, eight players found the net for Greensboro. Adding two goals apiece were Kayla Gonzalez, Melissa Gallaher, Kendra Allbritton and Katie Sporing. Also scoring were Michaela Sandoval and Jackie Farrell.

Sandoval was the primary set-up player for The Pride, dishing out three assists. Fedun, Gonzalez, Allbritton and Sporing each added one.

Tierra Lyles recorded the win in goal, playing the first 46:35 of the game. She was relieved by Kimmy Wright for the final 13:25 of the day.

The Pride outshot the Scotties, 22-5 and picked up 24 groundballs compared to nine for Agnes Scott.

Greensboro will be back in action at home on Sunday against LaGrange. Game time is set for 11:30 a.m. on Pride Field.
