SOPHOMORES OLSZEWSKI AND PEGRAM LEAD WESTERN GUILFORD INTO 1ST PLACE
The Western Guilford softball team beat a very tough Southern Alamance team tonight
for the biggest victory in many years for the Lady Hornets. The Hornets are now in
1st place in conference with a 4-0 record. Sophomore Sydney Olszewski pitched the
complete game 4-3 victory to raise her pitching record to 2-0.Sophomore Brooke
Pegram made a game saving catch in center field in the seventh inning to preserve
the win. This victory was a total team effort for the crucial and surprising win.
Congratulations to Western Guilford, Coach Norman is doing a fantastic job over there
with some very young talent. Southern Alamance has not lost two games in a row in softball
in a while that I can remember. Too bad Western is leaving the conference next year, we need
more good programs in our conference, it makes us all better in the long run.
SEG travels to ER this afternoon, time to take out some revenge on a team that we have not
beaten in at least four years. The Dallas Heaton team is gone now and they are rebuilding.
Western leaving the Metro 4A? Please expand on that.
