College Men’s Tennis Final – Guilford 9, Lynchburg 0

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Guilford College scored its third straight men’s tennis win Sunday with a 9-0 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) victory at Lynchburg College.

Rookie Turner Votipka moved up a flight from second to first singles for the second time this spring and scored a 6-0, 6-2 win over Matt Karvelas. Votipka teamed with Blake Brown for an 8-2 win at second doubles. Brown also picked up a win at sixth singles.

Guilford’s Ben Nelson did not allow a point in either of his two matches. He blanked Lynchburg’s Christian Golden, 6-0, 6-0, and teamed with Mark Cheong for an 8-0 third-doubles triumph over Casey Vines and Hyun Suk Lee.

The Quakers (7-5, 4-1 ODAC) visit Averett University Friday (3/23) at 2:00 p.m.
