‘Between the Lines’ with High School Baseball Tonight

Key games tonight…..
Western Guilford at Southeast Guilford 7pm….Can anybody stop SEG? Should be Craig Jacobelli’s turn for the Falcons and struck out 10 Dudley Panthers last Tuesday night…WG may be set for Marrero or Ahrens or Parr???
Page at Dudley…7pm…For Panthers it should be ‘Kimber Time’ and and when Corey Kimber pitches, it becomes a very tough time for all of those on the opposing team, no matter who you are…
Grimsley at Southern Alamance 7pm….The Whirlies got their first win last week vs. Smith and now this? This will be a very hard task, but this is why they play the games…
Glenn at Ragsdale 7pm….Ragsdale fell for the first time this season last Friday night and we will find tonight, if East Forsyth and Glenn are making a move to take over the Piedmont Triad 4-A Coference….(Who was it that beat Ragsdale last week, WS Reagan, and that means Ragsdale is still unbeaten in the conference….)
Northwest Guilford at East Forsyth 7pm….If Keaton Haack goes for NWG, that will go a long way in determining the outcome of this game….Haack can hold ’em, if Vikings can get some hits/runs….
Ledford at Northeast Guilford 7pm…Big-time Mid-Piedmont 3-A Conference game for NEG and they are expecting a strong challenge in the conference from Ledford…We’ll find out tonight if Jaylin Davis can go and if Ledford is going to be there in the mix….
Northern Guilford at Morehead 6pm….NG has to keep pace with the other Mid-State 3-A teams and this should be one that the Nighthawks have to nail down and maybe Kaplan can put a cap on this contest…
Western Alamance at McMichael 7pm…This is outside of our county, but this game has ‘Best Game of the Night’, written all over it…..Huge early-season Mid-State 3-A game and it is not that early in the baseball year any more, at the end of this week, some teams will be half way through their seasons….
Southwest Guilford at High Point Central 7pm…SWG has to have this one to keep pace with East Forsyth, Ragsdale and Glenn, and HP Central has to have Hanson Butler on the mound if they want to be in this game and Kendrick Davis will need to be ready to save the day, if Butler can get them through the night…Miller and smaller but big for SWG and Geoghean and Orth are big, but they must get even bigger for the Cowboys….
Eastern Guilford at Burlington Williams 7pm….EG just got back from Alamance County, as they Wildcats dropped the suspended game at Western Alamance last night as that one got completed and now they have to go there again this evening and Williams has only lost once this season and if they(the Bulldogs) throw Alan Sharpe tonight, it is going to be hard to top BW……
North Forsyth at Southern Guilford 7pm…Very much a winnable for SG Storm and they go after this hard, to lock down the conference victory…..
Eastern Alamance at Rockingham County 7pm….Big game for EA as they try and stay in the way of unbeaten McMichael, then BW, WA, NG and others in the Mid-State 3-A…
More action this evening on a very busy night…..
Westchester Country Day at Calvary Baptist 5pm
Raleigh Ravenscroft at Greensboro Day School 5pm
Wesleyan at North Raleigh Christian 6pm

  1. Do not discount the Panthers of Ledford – very strong starting pitching for them so far this season and their bats are getting hot. Another team in the Mid Piedmont 3A that everyone should keep their eye on is North Forsyth – very strong top 9 players!

  2. Ragsdale is unbeaten in the conference and is looking to further distance themselves from the pack. A win tonight for the Tigers will put them in good position to make the playoffs.

  3. Was wondering if Peter Guy is still with Ledford? He hit that ball like a lumberjack last year…..Curious too if his dad or maybe uncle played college baseball……Guy was the man last year for Ledford…..

  4. Pete Guy still at Ledford – and I do believe he had a couple of uncles play college ball – maybe at Air Force Academy. Great hitter and good catcher as well.

  5. Pete Guy still with Ledford. Senior this year–signed to play baseball with Pfeiffer University in the early signing period last November
