  1. Eastern Alamance 6
    Northern Guilford 2

WP: Nick Monroe (0 earned runs, 6 innings)
    S: Zack Littell
    LP: Matt Kaplan

  2. East Forsyth 6
    Ragsdale 3
    WP Dylan Ward

EF had 6 runs on 6 hits while Ragsdale had 3 runs on 9 hits. Ward went 7 innings for EF while Ambrose went 4 1/3 giving up 4 runs on 3 hits and an error. Horkey went 1 2/3 giving up a 2HR to May. Scudder also had a 2HR for EF. Fisher went 3-4 for Ragsdale with a 2 rbi double. Great ball game, well played by both teams.

  3. Yeah Northern lost again. No comment…. okay, wait, I can’t resist… Way, way too many errors and strikeouts this season. Tinkering with lineup on Wed and some “small ball” produced 7 runs and a win (more runs than the last 3 games combined!). Abandoned that tonight – huh?. More tinkering will get them back on track. Too much talent on this team.

Baseball 101 – play good defense, put the ball in play and good things happen. Tough to put the ball in play when facing Nick Monroe, but Northern did outhit EA – just couldn’t get key hits and of course 8 walks (3 of which were intentional) and 5 errors didn’t help either.

  4. I’m an E Forsth parent and I must give credit to the Ragsdale
2nd baseman. He made 3 solid defensive plays and I heard he is only a freshman?

  5. I agree with Wileyq, Northern has more talent than people are aware of. The team they beat mid week was one of the weaker teams in the league. I was told that their JV team was undefeated but they pitch juniors on that team. That is what I was told. They have a great group of players with a fairly good nucleus but they seem to be not clicking on all cylinders.. .

  6. I am wondering if that Ragsdale second baseman might be Colin Lipke…..Mike Ellis, Kirk, Mark or Dave would know for sure…..

  7. Good game at Northwest last night. Pitching was first rate…not just Haack and Orth (who were both strong), but Geoghan, Dale, and Swim also. Great atmosphere, with a lot of talent displayed on both sides, but more importantly playing the game the right way.

  8. That was one of the best games of the year at NWG last night with the Vikings and the SWG Cowboys…..Those plays in the outfield with Shoemaker, Haack and the NWG right fielder were unreal and there were a couple of similar plays in the OF by SWG, but those ones in center and in right by NWG really stand out…..One of those reminded me of Otis Nixon making one like it with the Atlanta Braves a few years ago….Great moving pace to that game last night, the pitchng performances really kept that game moving at a good steady pace….

  9. Grey and Andy are absolutely correct! The NWG and SWG game was one of the best if not the best game of the year. Outstanding pitching by both Haack and Orth. This game could have gone either way. The defensive plays by NWG were top notch catches on very well hit balls. The game had a great feel to it. Very good sportsmanship from both sides that played their hearts out. Grey is right, that was High School baseball played the way it should be played. Kudos to all the players, coaches and fans from both teams.
