College Women’s Lacrosse Final – Roanoke 18, Guilford 13

SALEM, Va. – Darragh Evarts scored four of her game-high six goals in the second half of Roanoke College’s 18-13 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) lacrosse win over visiting Guilford College Saturday.

The Maroons (5-5, 3-2 ODAC) erased a 6-4 deficit with a decisive 11-2 spurt that spanned both halves. Evarts scored four times during the run and Allison Bonnano added two goals and four assists in that time.

Morgan Conroy’s goal with 11:30 left in regulation capped the outburst and gave the Maroons a 15-8 lead, but Guilford (6-4, 3-1 ODAC) reeled off the next three goals. E’leyna Garcia’s free-position goal drew the Quakers to with 15-11 with 7:48 to play, but Guilford pulled no closer.

Roanoke’s Bonnano finished with a game-high 10 points on five goals and five assists. Kathleen Wager contributed five points on three goals and two assists, and Jamie Golden added two goals and two helpers. Elizabeth Hartge scored once, and had a huge defensive game with nine ground balls and six ground balls. Lauren Curtin made eight saves in goal.

Lily Colley paced the Quakers with nine points on four goals and five assists. She also picked up four ground balls and two draw controls. Summer Frazier also scored four goals and Garcia finished with three goals and an assist. Eleanora Keene scored once and picked up 12 draws. Liza Mettler made 13 saves in goal.

Guilford hosts league-rival Hollins University Wednesday (4/4) at 4:00 p.m.
