The Pride softball team wrapped up a seven day, ten game stretch on Sunday with two losses at Peace. Greensboro saw an early lead slip away in a 7-4 loss in game one, and fell victim of a late inning rally in a 5-4 game two defeat.

The Pride got right to work in game one, scoring three runs in the top half of the first inning. After Brittany Teer opened the scoring, Jackie Nicholson and Kelsey Burkett drew bases loaded walks.

Peace fired back with six runs in the bottom of the first to grab a 6-3 advantage.

Hayley Hicks trimmed the gap to 6-4 with an RBI single to center in the fourth. Greensboro would get no closer, however, as the Pacers tacked on one run in the sixth and held on for the 7-4 win.

The Pride lost despite outhitting Peace, 6-4. Six different players came through with a single hit in the game. Jackie Nicholson took the loss in one inning in the circle. Kelsey Sanfilippo finished out the remaining five innings.

Greensboro again took a first inning lead in game two, as Hayley Hicks scored on a fielding error. Hicks, Reihle Kash and Holly Jones each recorded RBI singles in the fifth to extend The Pride lead to 4-0.

The Pacers exploded in the bottom of the fifth, scoring six runs to pull out a second come-from-behind victory.

Greensboro again outhit Peace, 9-6. Kash and Kanisha Fogg both had a game high two hits. Hannah Pennell suffered the loss after throwing four solid innings.

The sweep drops The Pride to 15-15 overall and 6-6 in the USA South. Greensboro will look to rebound with a doubleheader at Averett on Tuesday. Game times are set for 2 and 4 p.m.
