College Men’s Golf Results – Guilford Shares Seventh at Emory Invitational

ATLANTA – Guilford College’s men’s golf team placed seventh at the Emory Spring Invitational Tuesday at the pa-72, 6,860-yard Druid Hills Golf Club. The Quakers, ranked first in the current Golf World/Nike Golf Division III Coaches Poll, shot 296 in Tuesday’s second and final round to finish with a 36-hole total of 599.

Methodist University (298-284-582) carded the tourney’s low round Tuesday to win the 17-team event by seven strokes over first-round leader Oglethorpe University (292-297-589).

LaGrange College’s Hudson Keener (68-68-136) shot his second straight round of 68 to win the 96-man tournament by two shots over Transylvania University’s Justin Tereshko (70-68-138).

Guilford’s Noah Ratner shot an even-par 72 Tuesday and tied for seventh place at two-over 146. Teammate Dusty Roberts (Reidsville, N.C./Rockingham County) (73-76-149) placed 22nd, four strokes in front of rookie teammate Nick Shedd, who shot 79-74-153 in his varsity debut. Freshman Mitch Robinette (Charlotte, N.C./Grace Academy) shaved 10 strokes off his first round to finish at 84-74-158. Classmate Drew Thompson placed 61st at 77-80-157.

Coach Corey Maggard’s Quakers return to action Apr. 22-24 at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championships at Bay Creek Resort in Cape Charles, Va.
