Five Pride Players Honored on USA All-Conference Softball Team

The Greensboro College softball team had five players recognized on Tuesday on the USA South All-Conference Team. Shortstop Brittany Teer was named to the Second Team, pitcher Kelsey Sanfilippo to the Third Team, and second baseman Brittany Evans and designated player Jackie Nicholson to Honorable Mention. In addition, Rebecca Pink was honored on the All-Sportsmanship squad.

Teer received her first postseason honors of her career after hitting .322 with team highs in runs scored with 23 and stolen bases with 11. She also contributed six doubles and 13 RBI over the course of 36 games.

Sanfilippo followed up her Rookie Pitcher of the Year honors as a freshman, by going 10-5 with two saves as a sophomore. In 97.2 innings of work, she struck out 105 batters and posted a 2.65 ERA.

Evans earned All-Conference honors for the second time, hitting .367 with 19 runs scored and a team best 20 RBI.

Nicholson, meanwhile, picked up her first All-Conference award as a freshman, breaking the .300 hitting mark at .303 with 22 runs scored and 14 RBI.

Pink wrapped up the selections on the All-Sportsmanship Team. The former USA South Rookie of the Year and Player of the Year, managed to finish fourth on the team with 15 RBI despite sitting out 14 games with an injury.
