The Asheboro Blue Comets picked up the win in the final game of the night at
the Copperhead Classic on Friday in spite of only collecting 2 hits for the
game.

Asheboro’s first run scored on a walk, a stolen base, a fielder’s choice and
a wild pitch.

The final two runs were set up when a man got on board after the ball got
away on a third strike. The only two hits the Blue Comets collected came in
the same inning and when the dust settled two runs had crossed the plate.

Southwest starter Matt Dale went the distance only giving up the two hits
but allowing three runs. Asheboro left 4 men on base.

Caleb Phillips got the start for Asheboro and pitched the complete game to
get the win, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits. Southwest left 6 men on base.
