Ragsdale wins out over Eastern Randolph tonight at the Copperhead Classic

Ragsdale scored three runs in the first and three in the third to get out to
a 6 – 1 lead and then turned it over to Matt Horkey on the mound and Kennan
Lynn in relief to record the 7 – 1 win.

Ragsdale took advantage of 2 Eastern errors in the first inning to put three
runs on the board. The first two runs scored on throwing errors by the
catcher and Matt Horkey drove in Mitch Carstens who had walked with a single
to center. In the third inning, Colin Lipke and Ben Fischer both laid down
successful suicide squeeze bunts to drive in two runs and Lipke later scored
on another error. Horkey picked up another RBI in the sixth inning with a
single driving in Niko Orfanedes who had gotten on board with a base hit.

Horkey pitched 5 innings to pick up the win. He gave up one run, 4 hits, 2
walks and 3 K’s. Kennan Lynn pitched the final two innings, retiring ER in
order and striking out 5 of the 6 batters he faced.

Bryson Harrald was 2 for 4, Niko Orfanedes was 3 for 4 and Horkey went 2 for
4 with 2 RBI’s to lead the Tigers. Ragsdale had 8 hits and did not commit
an error.

Corey Byerly pitched 2 1/3 innings giving up 6 runs on 4 hits to take the
loss. Eastern Randolph had 4 hits and committed 6 errors.
