Southwest got off to a fast start against Ragsdale starter, Matt Horkey, as
the first four batters he faced in the first inning hit safely. Austin
Zente and Kyle Miller singled before Matt Orth picked up an RBI on a double
to the wall in right center. Andrew Madden then drove in two more with base
hit and before the fans had even settled in their seats, Southwest was up 3
– 0. Horkey then settled in and got the next three batters to get out of
the inning.

Ragsdale got one back in the second as Kyle Morrison walked and eventually
scored on a Cesar Trejo single. They got another one back in the bottom of
the fourth as Bryson Harrald walked, got to third on a Joe Pantuso infield
single and an error, then scored on another throwing error on a Brandon
Walker ground ball.

Horkey, after a rough start, had come back to keep the Cowboys off the board
into the fifth. In the top of the fifth, Matt Orth got a one out single and
a two out walk to Matt Dale put runners on first and second. Sean Geoghegan
cleared the bases with a line drive up the third base line and rolled all
the way to the wall for a two RBI double to extend the lead to 5 ? 2.

Horkey led off the sixth for the Tigers with a single¸ but Dale got the next
two batters. Pantuso got on board on an error and Colin Lipke loaded the
bases with a base hit into left field. Ben Fischer then delivered a line
drive between short and third to drive in two runs and make the score 5 ? 4.
At that point, Geoghegan came on in relief of Dale and got the final out of
the inning on a comebacker to the mound.

Horkey got the Cowboys in order in the sixth and seventh to send his team to
the bottom of the seventh trailing by a single run. With the one run lead,
Geoghegan dominated, getting a lazy fly ball into left and then striking out
the final two batters to preserve the win for the Cowboys.
