Greensboro College Athletics and Special Olympics Unity Cup

(GREENSBORO, N.C.) — Greensboro College and Guilford College student-athletes will team up for the Special Olympics Unity Cup on Saturday, April 28th. The event welcomes athletes from the Greensboro-High Point sector of the Special Olympics.

The idea is to promote inclusion play and camaraderie between students from both colleges and Special Olympic athletes. The day will begin at 1 p.m. with a skills session consisting of flag football, kickball and volleyball. The main event begins at 3 p.m., with Special Olympic athletes hitting the field alongside the Greensboro College and Guilford College student-athletes for the Unity Cup soccer game.

Greensboro College athletic teams have participated in numerous Special Olympic events over the course of the year. The event is part of a Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) iniative that reflects the partnership between NCAA Division III and the Special Olympics.
