The Big One tonight is out at Northeast Guilford High School, with the RAMS hosting the Eastern Alamance Eagles….NEG is the team to see…They are our only remaining Guilford County school, in the boys NCHSAA baseball playoffs….3-A action at Northeast and the game time is set for 7pm….

Eastern Alamance(20-8) at Northeast Guilford(21-7)….Eastern Alamance topped Cardinal Gibbons 1-0 last Friday night to get here and Northeast got by Southern Lee, 4-3, in nine innings….Eastern Alamance is led by Nick Monroe, who ought to be an All-State candidate….He was the winning pitcher last Friday night for the Eagles and he hit the home run that accounted for the game-winning run and the only run that Eastern would need to get them to NEG tonight….Northeast could well look toward Matt Millaway again tonight….He is now (9-1) on the season on the hill and he is one of the top pitchers in our area…..The tandem of Matt Millaway and Jacob Watkins has worked well for NEG in the post-season and Jaylin Davis has found his groove again out there on the mound and he can be the one that could carry the Rams….Josiel Colon got the huge HR that saved the day for the Rams last Friday night and his walk-off homer in the extra innings(bottom of #9) made Northeast a Round Three winner and carried them right on to this evening’s Round Four matchup, with Eastern Alamance at home, on Hicone Road….

Colon, Davis, Millaway, Caleb McCann, Jacob McCann, Jordan Brown, Shane Flippin and Cole Wyrick all have playoff experience from 2011, when NEG advanced all the way to the 3-A State Championship series and this should be a big boost for the home team(NEG) tonight…NEG has been there and they want to and they are ready to, go back again….Right now Eastern Alamance is only thing standing in their way of making back to Eastern Finals, that begin on Friday evening….

Nobody else is playing here locally tonight, so this is your chance to get out and support the RAMS….GreensboroSports.com will there and we will be looking for you…We will start posting scores of this game at around 7:17 here on the site and again, first pitch will come at 7pm at Northeast Guilford High School, on Hicone Road, out off of Highway 29 North…..GO RAMS!

Also tonight we have:
4-A’s:
Mount Tabor(16-11) at East Forsyth(19-7) 7pm…..Any time East Forsyth has either Dylan Ward or Caleb Edwards throwing, they are in line to win again…..

2-A’s:
Cuthbertson(26-3) at Randleman(26-3) 7pm

  • Coach Blue said,

Andy–Thanks for promoting our game and school.

  • I'll have another said,

Is there a weather report for NE game. I understand Brown Summitt was getting hammered with rain right now?
