Celebrate North Carolina Sports with the Carolina Cheetahs

Carolina Cheetahs selected to participate this weekend at the NC Sports Hall of Fame

(Greensboro, North Carolina): The owners of the Carolina Cats Sports & Entertainment Group Inc. were invited for a presentation at the NC Sports Hall of Fame on June 8th at 5:00pm and received at 5:30 pm at the Governor’s Mansion by the First Gentleman. Hall of Famers, Hall of Fame Board members, notable ACC coaches and former players including former ABA Carolina Cougar’s player David Thompson were also amongst attendees.

June 9th, 2012, celebrate with the Carolina Cheetahs and other NC sports organizations at the 2nd Saturdays: Celebrate North Carolina Sports event. This will be a action-packed event for all ages where you can see famous NASCAR stock cars, watch demonstrations by the Bouncing Bulldogs jump rope team and Cheer Extreme athletes, go on a hunt through the North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame and much more.

Dr LeVonder Brinkley , CEO and Team Owner of the Carolina CATS Sports & Entertainment Group said, “We are thrilled to be participating in this event. My basketball teams and the entire ABA league are dedicated to giving back to the community and promoting sports awareness, so this event is an excellent medium to do such. Please come out and support your local teams. Don’t miss the fun day at the museum.”

The Cheetahs will be represented to showcase their team’s accomplishments for the first ABA season. The Cheetahs had a great 1st season: they made the ABA Divisional Playoffs , had two players nominated for the ABA All-Stars, had one player (Chris Woods) make the ABA All-Star team, and they finished 14th overall out of over 94 teams nationwide.

The famous ABA red and white basketballs will be used by the Museum for various activities with the children like with a basketball shooting challenge. The event is this Saturday, June 9th from 11am to 3pm at the NC Museum of History in Raleigh, NC. The event is free and the museum’s address is 5 East Edenton Street.

The North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame, which inducted its first class in 1963, celebrates excellence and extraordinary achievement in athletics. The Hall of Fame also commemorates and memorializes exceptional accomplishments in sports for the inspiration and enjoyment of all North Carolinians, especially the youth, through popular exhibits and educational displays.
