Powerade State Games Track & Field Nears Record Participation

Event returns to Wake Forest’s Kentner Stadium

DURHAM, NC, June 7, 2012 – The Powerade State Games of North Carolina is
nearing a record in participation for its Track & Field Meet this weekend.
The Youth event, to be held on Saturday, June 9th, has over 1,050
participants so far. The Masters/Open event, to be held on June 10th, is
closing in on 150 participants. 1,368 youth and adults participated in the
2009 Powerade State Games Track & Field event in Charlotte. The Powerade
State Games is looking to eclipse this number in 2012.

Both events will be held at Wake Forest University’s Kentner Stadium. The
Youth event starts at 9:00am on Saturday, while the Masters/Open begins at
10:00am on Sunday. Admission is free.

The Powerade State Games is also holding two other events this weekend. BMX
and Mountain Bike competitions will take place on Saturday, June 9th. The
BMX event takes place at Tanglewood Park and competition begins at 1pm. The
Mountain Bike event will be held at Hobby Park beginning at 9:00am.
