Powerade State Games Track & Field Will Have Olympic Hopefuls

London Olympics Loom As Participants Try To Qualify

DURHAM, NC, June 8, 2012 – The Powerade State Games Track & Field Masters &
Open competition is Sunday, June 10th, at Kentner Stadium on the campus of
Wake Forest University. There are thirteen Olympic hopefuls preregistered
for the event. The hopefuls (listed with hometown and event) are:
DeMiracle Washington (Raleigh, long jump), Jason Smoots (Raleigh, 100m
dash), Chris Lawson (Norfolk, VA, 100m dash, 200m dash, long jump), Randy
Curry (Atlanta, GA, 400m dash), Dave Hayatt (Raleigh, 400m dash), Josh Scott
(Raleigh, 400m dash), Josh Edmonds (Raleigh, 400m dash), Gerkenz Senesca
(Raleigh, 400m dash), Carrington Queen (110m hurdles), Adams Faison (Western
Carolina University, 110m hurdles, 400m hurdles)

Leford Green (Charlotte, 400m dash, 400m hurdles), Adrian Findlay (Raleigh,
400m hurdles), Marlon Woods (Norfolk, VA, Long Jump).

The Masters & Open meet starts at 10am on Sunday, running oldest to youngest
throughout the day. On-site registrations will be available and anyone can
compete. The London Olympics are in July. Admission to this event is free
and all are invited to watch these athletes try to fulfill a lifelong dream.
