Anderson(Ragsdale HS) and Brandenburg(Ragsdale HS) are leading Hi-Toms Baseball

from Michael Lindsay and the High Point Enterprise at www.hpe.com and this gives us a good look at how Kyle Brandenburg and DeSean Anderson are doing this Summer, as members of the Hi-Toms’ Coastal Plain League ball club…Many feel that the Coastal Plain League is now among the best in the nation for Summer baseball and some have it now positioned just below the historic Cape Cod League, when it comes to level of talent, that has been assembled by the league directors…

Here is the current update/status on Anderson and Brandenburg, both former players for Donnie Manness at Ragsdale High School, in Jamestown…..

THOMASVILLE – Although the Thomasville HiToms’ bats have been slow to heat up, there have been signs from a couple players of warming – most notably area players Kyle Brandenburg and DeSean Anderson.

Brandenburg, a former Ragsdale and Post 87 standout who will plays for High Point University, leads the team in hitting at .389 while Anderson, also a former Ragsdale and Post 87 standout who plays for UNC Pembroke, is second at .300.

Each has one home run, with Brandenburg’s coming Saturday at Asheboro and Anderson’s coming Wednesday at home also against Asheboro. Anderson’s was a solo blast deep over the left-field wall in the seventh inning of a 5-3 win.

  1. No mention of Brandenburg- former GTCC Titan- or Anderson- former RCC Eagle- playing at the LOCAL junior colleges.

  2. Glad you caught that coach….We were just hitting the high school influence here and your call is a good one….Those High Point Enterprise fellas need to be on their toes…..

GTCC and RCC and go Titans and RCC Cougars?

  3. I am sure that Suire told the paper what School to put in to make himself look better than he really is. No offense to te players mentioned they are great kids and good ball players. The whole baseball community would be a much better place if Suire was not a part of it. Ford Motor Co seems to be doing welll now with out him.

  4. You have to be kidding…Greg Suire is the sole reason for many young local players having a place to play in the fall and summer. He’s also a huge reason many of his former players end up on college teams. You go ask any of the HiToms legion kids what they think about him-he and his coaches have turned that program from average to one of the very best in the state.

  5. Herd – If you would sit down with players he has had from the HiToms to the Legion teams and really ask them what has he done for them to futher their advancement and I bet you$100.00 they all will say NOT A THING except lie to me and give me some moisture management that I can’t get it over my head or the neck has come off my shirt or I had to listen to him and his lovely wife scream at each other during a game. LOL
